Hi! I am developing an adobe air application to use Amazon Device Messaging. I follow all the steps commented in this link: http://www.pushwoosh.com/programming-push-notification/amazon/amazon-additional-platforms/adobe-air/

I have repackaged the .apk and I have changed AndroidManifest like it is commented but if I run the .apk in release mode in Kindle Fire HD, I get this error viewing logcat:

I/System.out( 7901): Broadcast push: true I/System.out( 7901): App ID: 62032-E5854 I/System.out( 7901): Project ID: 2032-E5854 I/ActivityManager( 205): Start proc com.amazon.mas.test for service com.amazon.mas.test/com.amazon.testclient.KickstartService: pid=7968 uid=10025 gids={1015} I/ActivityThread( 7968): Pub com.amazon.testclient: com.amazon.testclient.transactions.TransactionsProvider W/System.err( 7901): java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Device does not have package com.google.android.gsf W/System.err( 7901): at com.google.android.gcm.GCMRegistrar.checkDevice(Unknown Source) W/System.err( 7901): at com.arellomobile.android.push.registrar.PushRegistrarGCM.checkDevice(Unknown Source) W/System.err( 7901): at com.arellomobile.android.push.PushManager.onStartup(Unknown Source) W/System.err( 7901): at com.pushwoosh.nativeExtensions.PushWoosh.onDeviceReady(Unknown Source) W/System.err( 7901): at com.pushwoosh.nativeExtensions.PushwooshOnDeviceReady.call(Unknown Source) W/System.err( 7901): at com.adobe.air.customHandler.callTimeoutFunction(Native Method) W/System.err( 7901): at com.adobe.air.customHandler.callTimeoutFunction(Native Method) W/System.err( 7901): at com.adobe.air.customHandler.handleMessage(customHandler.java:22) W/System.err( 7901): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) W/System.err( 7901): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) W/System.err( 7901): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4558) W/System.err( 7901): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) W/System.err( 7901): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) W/System.err( 7901): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:784) W/System.err( 7901): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:551) W/System.err( 7901): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method)

Kindle HD is Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Gen) with OS Version Based on Android 4.0.3, API level 15, so it should support ADM...

How could I fix it? Thank you.

Hello,

Could you please send us the Manifest file and the APK of your application?

Please note that you can create a ticket in our support system using Contact us form.

I have sent a response on Contact us but it sounds like PushNotification.ane on Android always tries to access GCM and it is not necessary...

Hello,

Could you please double check whether everything is ok with the Testing Notes part of this guide?

Hi,

thank you for your answer but I have a second-generation Kindle Fire HD 7" - System Version 7.4.9_user_4952320 and like it is said in the Testing Notes ADM is supported with "Kindle Fire HD 7" - System Version 7.3.0 or later".

The unusual behaviour is that the extension is trying to access gcm (Google Cloud Messaging)...

Any updates? I created a ticket on support system without any response.

Like I said, the problem is that extension for Amazon (ADM) is trying to access google libraries (obviously not installed on Amazon device). This lines in the trace of logcat show that:

java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Device does not have package com.google.android.gsf W/System.err( 7901): at com.google.android.gcm.GCMRegistrar.checkDevice(Unknown Source)
